Corrections Policy
When we get it wrong, we fix it. Publicly.
Accuracy is the foundation of credible journalism. Jersey Ledger strives to verify all facts before publication. Despite our best efforts, errors occasionally occur. When they do, we take responsibility and act quickly to correct the record.
Types of Corrections
Issued when we publish factually inaccurate information — errors in names, dates, locations, statistics, or quotes. Appended to the article with a clear notice.
Issued when original reporting was accurate but unclear or missing context that could lead to misunderstanding. Explains what was added or modified.
Added to provide context, disclose conflicts of interest, or explain significant updates to developing stories. Doesn't necessarily indicate an error.
Rare cases where a story's fundamental premise is false. Article is removed and replaced with a retraction notice explaining the circumstances.
